Filmmaking Frenzy is proud to announce our next action-packed
filmmaking competition, the DFEST edition of BPM (Beats per minute), a
48 hour filmmaking competition. At 7:00 PM on July 11, teams will be given MP3s of two songs from artists performing at DFEST July 25-26. This signals the beginning of the competition. Immediately you and your team start scrambling: listening to the song, decoding the lyrics, making the shot list, borrowing and stealing guitars, wigs - whatever it takes to make the most entertaining video of them all. Local Tulsa filmmakers can pick up their music in person at Dwelling Spaces (119 S. Detroit Ave), and teams in other cities can rely on the Internet for mp3 delivery. Teams have 48 hours to complete a music video and upload it to this site. The contest ends at 7:00 PM on July 13, 2008 CST. Local teams in Tulsa can drop their finished DVDs off at Blank Slate (230 E. 1st St.), then enjoy a complimentary drink at the official wrap party. Filmmakers in other cities will need to have their final films uploaded to the site by 7:00 pm, and all teams also need to send a DVD of their video to the Filmmaking Frenzy head office. The completed videos will be shown in the Red Bull Beats Per Minute tent inside Main Stage grounds at DFest throughout the weekend. The winning video will be premiered at the Main Stage during DFEST weekend.$0
